Valve CEO Gabe Newell’s startup, Starfish Neuroscience, plans to release its first brain chip by late 2025. The device aims to be smaller and less invasive than competitors like Neuralink, using only 1.1 milliwatts of power and requiring no battery thanks to wireless energy transmission. Designed to interact with multiple brain regions simultaneously, it could support both computer interfaces and treatments for neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease.
